On a recent Saturday this May , vehicles from 19 central Montana and 8 northern Wyoming Lutheran churches brought 712 boxes of quilts, soap, and kits for Lutheran World Relief; which were loaded into the semi-truck parked in Mount Olive’s parking lot. Sixty of those boxes contained quilts, personal care kits, and school kits from Mount Olive. Thankyou to Mount Olive Quilters, LWML Mary and Martha members, and Mount Olive members for your donations. Many thanks to to Chris Johns, Jason Johnson, Tristin Rodriguez, Pastor and Alicia McCall, and others individuals who helped with loading the semi. Thanks, too to Lorli Meercer for helping Donnaleen Ganskop with the paperwork. Grace Lardy, Janet Iverson, Chris Johns, Tristin Rodriguez, Brady DeCock, and Johnathan Besel helped with weighing and labelling all the boxes that went to Lutheran World Relief.
Mount Olive Quilters completed and donated 179 quilts for Lutheran World Relief. Also a large number of quilts have been donated to Orphan Grain Train and recently one quilt wa given to David Henley. Mount Olive Quilters are very appreciative of the sheets, fabric, and supplies that Mount Olive members as well as other iindividuals have donated to them. The Mount Olive Quilters are in constant need of more supplies, especially gently used sheets (for backing the quilts). They could also use a few more ladies to help them. You don’t need to know how to sew – they need help with tying and ironing. They meet on Thursday mornings about 9am, and fellowship promptly at 10am. During the summer months they will meet every other week, check the church calendar in your box, and follow the dates posted in the Sunday bulletins.
